Iranians across the country have taken part in mourning processions on Ashura, the tenth day of the lunar month of Muharram, when Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam, along with 72 of his companions, were martyred in the battle of Karbala.
This year’s Ashura comes in the wake of the twelve-day Israeli-imposed war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
