Germany and Ireland tell Britain No justification for breaking Brexit deal

Germany and Ireland condemn Britain’s move toward overhauling a post-Brexit deal on trade rules in Northern Ireland.
The German and Irish foreign ministers say the UK has no legal or political justification for overriding the agreement with the Europnewean Union. They wrote in the Observer that London will be violating an international agreement by trying to unilaterally revise its terms. This comes after British lawmakers paved the way for amendments to the agreement to become law by the end of 20-22. The so-called Northern Ireland protocol creates a customs border with the rest of the UK. London wants the customs checks removed for certain goods. But the EU says this threatens the EU single market. The bloc has threatened an all-out trade war if the UK overrides the protocol.
