The fourth round of indirect talks between Iran and the US has ended. The talks were held in the capital of Oman, focusing on Iran’s nuclear energy program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.

The talks, headed by Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi and the United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steven Witkoff, lasted more than 3 hours. A US official expressed satisfaction with the talks saying the next meeting will happen in the near future. In the lead-up to the talks on Sunday, Witkoff again called for the complete dismantlement of Iran’s nuclear program. Iran’s foreign minister has criticized the contradictory statements by US officials, saying that nuclear enrichment is the red line for Tehran.
