A senior Hamas official has condemned US President Donald Trump's remarks about the absence of famine in Gaza. Izzat al-Rishq said Trump's denial of famine in Gaza is a blatant repetition of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's narrative and lies.
Al-Rishq said Trump denies the famine despite the testimony of the UN and other international organizations, and the deaths of dozens of children from starvation. He added that Trump’s remarks provide further cover for the Israeli regime to continue its war of extermination and starvation against the Palestinian people. Al-Rishq also rejected US accusations that Hamas is looting humanitarian aid in Gaza, calling them baseless and without any evidence. He said Israel is fueling chaos and lawlessness in Gaza by deliberately targeting police officers assigned to protect aid convoys. Al-Rishq urged the US administration to stop echoing Israeli propaganda and assume its moral and humanitarian responsibilities regarding the regime's genocide in Gaza.
