In a powerful display of unity and support for Palestinians in Gaza, thousands of demonstrators flooded the streets of Sydney, Australia, for a historic pro-Palestine march.
The protest prompted the temporary closure of the iconic Harbour Bridge for several hours, marking one of the city's most significant acts of civil disruption in recent memory. Protesters voiced their outrage over the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Many participants carried pots, pans, and kitchen utensils—banging them together to symbolize the dire food shortages and starvation gripping people in Gaza. They called for opening of all crossings into the Gaza Strip and allowing the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid. Chants of pro-Palestine slogans echoed through the city as demonstrators demanded an immediate end to the genocide.
