The Iranian Foreign Ministry says Tehran remains in close contact with its neighbors regarding the developments in the South Caucasus region that directly or indirectly affects Iran’s interests.
During a weekly press briefing, ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei announced that high-level talks will be held between Iranian and Armenian officials, providing an opportunity for Tehran to share its views and concerns. He also noted that Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister will visit Tehran on Tuesday. Baqaei emphasized that Iran places great importance on maintaining strong relations with both Azerbaijan and Armenia in the South Caucasus. He underscored that any proposed corridor in Iran’s northwest must fully respect the region’s geopolitical sensitivities.
