EU dismisses call by Irish president for UN troops in Gaza

The European Commission appears to shrug off a call from the President of Ireland for UN peacekeepers to be deployed in Gaza, as the death toll there continues to rise due to brutal Israeli attacks, and starvation. Michael D. Higgins says international action is urgently needed to stop the killing and allow food into the besieged territory.
