The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has strongly condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland as an aggressive step and part of the regime’s conspiracies against Islamic nations.
Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said Israel is trying to establish a foothold in Somalia to target the entire region. He added that the move is aimed at fragmenting regional countries, and will not remain limited to Somalia, as its main goal is to change West Asia. Houthi stressed that Israel’s move must be confronted by all regional nations in every way possible. He emphasized that as an illegitimate occupying regime, Israel is in no position to recognize the legitimacy of others. Houthi said Israel seeks to use Somaliland for hostile activities against Somalia, African countries, and Yemen, and threatens the security of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. He stressed that Yemen's armed forces will consider any Israeli presence in the Somaliland a military target, as it constitutes aggression against Somalia and Yemen, and a threat to the security of the region. Houthi urged all countries in the Red Sea region to take practical measures to prevent the regime from violating the sovereignty of Somalia, and all other Muslim and independent countries.
