The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has raised a new alarm about the dire situation of children in the Gaza Strip, amid Israel’s restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid.
According to UNRWA, children in Gaza are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance that remains blocked outside the territory due to Israeli-imposed blockade. It stressed that the regime must immediately lift all its restrictions to allow the flow of aid into Gaza. The warning came after Gaza’s Civil Defense said the current storm affecting the territory has caused thousands of tents belonging to displaced people to be blown away or damaged. It emphasized that the current crisis in Gaza is a direct result of Israel's ban on the entry of building materials, and its obstruction of reconstruction efforts. Palestinian sources say despite the ceasefire, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has not improved due to Israel’s failure to fulfill its obligations.
