At least three people have been killed and ten injured after Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham forces attacked peaceful protest rallies across Syria.
The casualties mainly occurred in the coastal city of Lattakia and several neighborhoods in Homs city. HTS forces attacked protesters with machetes in Lattakia, and two cars also opened fire on protesters. In the Wadi Dahab area of Homs, HTS used live ammunition to disperse the demonstrators. Arrests have also taken place. Protesters were demanding federalization, an end to sectarian killings, and the release of prisoners. The peaceful rallies, called by a prominent Alawite spiritual leader, spread to over a dozen cities and towns, including Tartus, Hama, and Jableh, where demonstrators were attacked. The call came following an explosion inside the Imam Ali mosque in Homs province, which left eight people dead.
